Whittier Union classified workers rally for better pay, health care benefits at recent board meeting
Roxanne Sanchez, an instructional vocational specialist at La Serna High School, has worked with the Whittier Union High School District for more than 20 years – but says she needs to work another job to make ends meet.
“I have to work a second job because the pay is not cutting it anymore,” she said, “especially the last few years.”
Sanchez, along with 200 other classified workers part of the California School Employees Association union at WUHSD, held a rally at the district’s recent Board of Trustees meeting to echo their negotiations for better pay and improved health care benefits, among other proposals.
